Itinerary
Arrival
Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose, you'll meet your fellow travelers, local guide, and group leader. Your guides will assist with your luggage and transport you to the 4-star Park Inn by Radisson San Jose hotel in an accessible van equipped with a wheelchair lift. Your guaranteed accessible room will be ready and waiting for you upon arrival.
That evening travelers will gather together for dinner at a restaurant near the hotel to fellowship! The restaurant will be inclusive and respectful of dietary restrictions while being fully accessible. This meal is included in the packaged trip rate.
Day 2: San José City Tour + Zoo Ave
Morning: After breakfast, you'll be transported to the city center of San Jose in a wheelchair-accessible van for a guided city tour. Although the city presents some accessibility challenges, the attractions and stops included in the itinerary have easy access and adapted restrooms. Your first guided visit will be to the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, which houses the largest collection of Latin American gold artifacts and is located in a historical building. You'll then visit the Municipal Theatre, where you'll learn about this 19th-century building and its neoclassical architecture with a guided tour.
Lunch: After the morning tours and sight seeing, you'll enjoy an included lunch at a restaurant with local dishes.
Afternoon: After lunch, you'll visit Zoo Ave, a rescue center for wild animals. This urban park features botanical gardens and is home to over 125 species of animals, including birds, mammals, and reptiles. The animals at the park have been rescued and cannot be released back into the wild for various health or behavioral reasons. The park has step-free accessible toilets, however, some ramps have an incline greater than 20°, so wheelchair users may require assistance to access them.
After this visit, you'll be transported back to the hotel.

Day 3: Arenal Hot Springs
In the morning, after having breakfast at the hotel, you will depart towards Arenal with your driver and personal guide on a wheelchair-accessible van. The trip to Arenal can take between 3 to 4 hours.
Lunch: Fuel up for the exciting day ahead with an included lunch stop on your way to Arenal
Once you arrive in Arenal, you will have the opportunity to soak and relax in the hot springs. Assistance and an amphibious wheelchair will be provided. Afterward, you will check into the 5-star Kioro Suites hotel and spend the night. With dinner at the hotel at your leisure.

Day 4: Hanging bridges & Organic Farm Cooking Lesson
Morning: After breakfast, you will get ready to have a fantastic day at Mistico Park. There, you will enjoy a beautiful hike, cross its hanging bridges, and spot unique flora and fauna with the help of your knowledgeable guide. The site has accessible restrooms and accesses, and professional guides have been heavily trained in working with people with accessibility needs. The necessary adapted equipment will be provided whenever required for you to focus on enjoying this unforgettable experience.
Lunch: Returning to Arenal, you will have lunch and have some time to explore this town freely.
Afternoon: The trip continues in Vida Campesina, an organic farm where you will have a cooking lesson. Beginning with an introduction to the place and everything that grows on their farm, you will cook a delicious Costa Rican dinner, make a toast, and eat your preparation with a glass of sugar cane extract. Later you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 5: A Stunning Jaco Boat Tour
Morning: Start your day right with a delicious breakfast, before embarking on a journey to the picturesque town of Jaco in a private, fully accessible vehicle. The scenic drive, which takes approximately 3 ½ hours, offers opportunities to take in the breathtaking views. There will be accessible bathrooms along the way.
Lunch: Upon arrival at Jaco, refuel with a delectable lunch, included in your itinerary.
Afternoon: Get ready for an unforgettable experience on the Tarcoles River, where you'll board an accessible boat and embark on a journey of discovery. With the help of your knowledgeable guide, you'll get up close and personal with exotic wildlife such as crocodiles and a variety of birds. Both the boat and dock are fully accessible, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free excursion. After the tour, you'll be transferred to the luxurious 4-star Parador San Bada, where your accessible room will be waiting for you.

Day 6: Manuel Antonio National Park
In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading to the Manuel Antonio National Park. This 680-hectare park is perfect for an accessible trekking adventure with an experienced guide who will take you on a journey filled with exotic plants, local animals, and some unusual monkeys and raccoon species. With different levels of trails to choose from, your guide will help you select the perfect one to match your adventurous spirit!
After the hike, you'll have the afternoon to explore Manuel Antonio town on your own or simply relax at your hotel and have dinner at your leisure.

Day 7: Tour Carara National Park & Transfer to San Jose
Morning: You will have an early breakfast at your hotel, and head to the Carara National Park’s accessible trail. It is the only transitional forest in the Central Pacific, which boasts diverse flora and fauna, where species from the dry and humid forests meet. It is also one of the main sites in the country for birdwatching.
Carara National Park is the first national park to have a universal access path, where all visitors can experience the forest and get to know local species such as the coffee tree.
Afternoon: After your accessible trekking experience, you will be picked up on an accessible van for a beautiful drive back to San Jose. This drive will take about 4 hours, and you’ll stop for lunch and rest breaks. Upon arrival to San Jose, you will check into the 4-star Park inn by Radisson San Jose, where your accessible room will be waiting for you.

Departure
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, it's time to say goodbye to the friendships made on this trip. You will check out of the hotel and be taken to the airport via accessible van, with the driver assisting you with your luggage.
